Squidoo is a social networking site where you can establish yourself as an expert in a niche topic area, or just publish all the info you have rolling around in your head for the benefit of others.
Each page is called a lens and is concentrated on one topic, for example, cookie recipes. To your lens, you add a few text posts (similar to a blog), and any other modules you might like. The modules are click and add easy and there is one for Amazon (so you can show books related to your topic), a survey, images, ebay items for sale, cafepress items for sale, and a number of other options, even youtube videos.
The modules are interactive and visitors to your lens can vote on their favorite products or answer your surveys. You are paid a small amount for any purchases made from your recommendations, or you can designate it to a charity.
For best results, no more than five short text articles is best.
Warning, creating squidoo lenses can be addictive. And the link is ….. www.squidoo.com

I have not tried this yet (getting behind on my product trials), but apparently Google has a tool called Google Notebook that allows you to organize notes and clippings as you travel the web.
The way I operate now is if I see something on a site and I want to remember it for future reference, I bookmark it. Before long I have so many bookmarks, I feel like the old woman in the shoe and usually never go back to the sites again.
So this could be a very useful tool. I’ll let you know what I think, but don’t wait for me, go to www.google.com/notebook/ and give it a try.

I have been learning to create a wiki. A wiki is a site that allows multiple content writers. Wikipedia is probably the best known wiki on the net.
You can create a free wiki that can be accessed by anyone, or can be kept private and used by the people that you choose to invite, such as relatives, business associates, or a classroom. In fact, wikis are often used in education.
I was so excited when I realized I could insert slide shows, calendars, youtube videos, and voice chats all using a drag and drop method.
As I started to create my wiki, I realized there is a bit of a learning curve and since I am learning too many other things right now, I am shelving the wiki until later in the year.
But if any of you are feeling adventurous and would like to try your hand at wiki creation, go to www.pbwiki.com and be sure to let us know how you make out.

I have been teaching a few workshops about using eBay for a number of months now, but was never very interested in doing it myself. But it seems every time I turn around, someone is recommending eBay, not just to make money, but as a learning tool for Internet Marketing.
I finally decided to get off the fence and be more serious about doing, not just knowing about eBay. One of my students sold a small soapstone bear for over $300 and the enthusiasm was contagious. So I listed my first item last week (a small plastic toy) and it actually sold!! Not for much more than the price of a cup of coffee, but it was still enough to encourage me to try again.
The tutorials and help at eBay are fantastic, and I have a lot of stuff lying around that I would love to find a new home for, so I may be spending a lot of time at eBay. I’ll keep you posted on my progress.

I found a great site today for video tutorials on some aspects of Internet Marketing and using Wordpress blogs. Since I am a visual learner, these were well done and easy to understand. The site is tubetorial.com
