Another idea for the magnet paper is to use it to print out some colour photos. In Word or a photo editing program, click {Insert} and {From File}. Then look at the list of files in your computer for the picture you want. Usually, pictures end up in the folder marked My Pictures.
Click on the picture you like and it will be inserted into your program. Check Print Preview to see if the size is right, then print the photo on a piece of magnet paper. (One sheet at a time in the printer). You might want to print a draft on paper first, since the magnet paper is expensive.
Afterwards, if you like you can get some clear laminating paper (the kind that doesn’t need heat) and carefully apply it to your photo to keep it clean . Stick your photo magnet on the frig (yes, it will stick with the plastic over top) and get ready for the compliments.

There are a number of good scrapbook creation programs. They allow you to place text and photos in existing layouts, so your design always looks nice. Check for extra features like a spell checker, ideas to get your writing started, or information about what happened on a certain date in history.
Many publishing programs, such as Printshop, also allow you to make scrapbooks. You could also use a program like Word and create your own layouts. Have fun and pass on the memories.

These are so neat, I really liked them. The package costs about $10 or more for 3 letter size sheets, so it isn’t a product I will use for everything. But if you plan your design so that a number of things can be printed on one sheet and cut out individually, the cost is less. The package said ’safe for injet printers’ and I used my laser printer with no problems. The sheets feed through easily and the magnet paper sticks well afterward. I give this product an A.

Another web service for artists is cafepress.com and today I received two calendars and a framed tile from them. The tile is framed in wood and makes a great wall hanging. My only complaint was that the picture was a little darker than the original, but still quite nice. The calendars were from two different cafepress stores - one that my new daughter-in-law set up and that has 12 wedding pictures she chose for the calendar - a great keepsake. The photos are not as clear as their smaller originals, so the pictures should have been a higher resolution, I guess. The other calendar is one my son is selling at cafepress.com/bremnerdesign and the pictures on it are wonderful. He created them in Photoshop and the colours are clear and vibrant.
A word of warning: if you are Canadian and order from them, you will have to pay duty when the items are delivered to your house.

Today I have been going from frustration and tears to elation and smiles, all because of a website. I decided to try getting my own store up on Cafe Press, but it was so hard to get the picture saved properly. I opened a photo I had and cut away part of it, but then the program wouldnt let me save it to use. So I copied it and pasted it into a Word document, but it wouldnt save as a JPG (picture) file, only as a text document. I finally managed to put it into Powerpoint, although I still dont know how to adjust the size.
