While there is really no way to accurately determine how much a blog is worth, it’s still fun to know if all of your hard work has been noticed. And if you’ve got a blog that is worth the price, you still have to find someone willing to pay that amount. So this whole thing is an exercise in unreality, but still something I like to do sometimes.
Usually, the amount your blog is worth should be more than it was last time you checked (unless you only waited a day or two). But for some reason, my personal blog was worth over $500 last year and now is worth nothing. I haven’t done anything different, so can’t figure that one out. If you can tell me, please do.
Anyway, without further ado, here is what I found for this creativehomecomputing blog as of June 2009 (drum roll please):

My blog is worth $7,903.56.
How much is your blog worth?

Good for you, now just try to get somebody to pay that much.LOL
Hi Carol
Are sure this works?
I just entered your blog’s URL and it came up with a completely different figure (almost $5000 different). Assuming you only did it a few days ago, it shouldn’t have changed that much, should it?
Coincidentally, I was reading an article the other day on buying and selling websites, blogs in particular, and two of the main criteria they used were the amount of money it is currently generating and the number of subscribers/users regularly using the site.
I was interested to see what Technorati uses to generate its value, but the link from their website crashed my browser (and I had to retype this message!) So I’ll have a look another day.

Hi Karen, I see what you mean. When I entered the website with www at the beginning, I got the $7,000 figure, but when I put an http:// in front of the www, I got a figure of just over $2,000. A big difference and I’m not techie enough to say why that happens.
I have no idea how the amount of the blog is calculated. It’s more of a fun thing for me than anything. Just think, I’ve lost $5,000 in one day!
