Hi,
I had the same problem with my brand new Gateway. I reformatted the hard drive and did not partition it. Then I only put the operating sytem back on. When you get a new computer you get a bunch of junk a long with it. Now I only have what I want on it. I hope this helps.

Thank you both, Robert and Sandy. I did check out a number of forums but there doesn’t seem to be any way to enlarge the default partition. And to make matters worse, both drives were marked as the default, so couldn’t do much with either. Since I’m not a techie, I couldn’t reformat the drive myself, but Acer ended up giving me a new hard drive since mine was determined to be faulty.

And Sandy, you are right about all the extra junk you get with a new computer. First thing I usually do is remove all the sample programs.
