Firefox Stops Forgery

I just found another reason I’m thankful to be using Firefox as my new Internet browser.

I received an email telling me to check my credit rating with Equifax. I’ve wanted to do that for awhile, so didn’t think twice about it and clicked the link to take me to the Equifax site.

Next thing I knew, Firefox showed a pop-up on my screen advising me that the site I had gone to was a possible forgery.

I do know not to click links for eBay or Paypal, but instead to type the URL in my address bar and go there directly. But I never even thought about using caution in this case. I’m getting to the point that I’m a bit paranoid about clicking links in emails at all!
